Case in point: it comes along after the proverbial fact to give us shit for having [maybe] missed an opportunity, when it’s actually its perspective we’d been seeing things from in the first place (thus causing us to not see – or to ‘shy away from’ – said opportunity)!
It hides all your best gifts on the other side of your fears [and who’s inclined to even think to look there, right?].
(Love being a given,) what might most people assume as being the answer to that?
…[apparently, it’s] forgiveness.
I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with forgiveness; after all, it does remove barriers/ illusions and wanton allusions, but where concern regarding forgiveness can be skewed is when one attaches a hope or expectation to it, a (conscious or unconscious) desire that you’ll be conferred with some manner of ‘cosmic prosperity’ as a result, that’ll it’ll be bestowed upon you by some benevolent being outside of yourself as a reward (for good and proper, quantifiably admirable behaviour).
What to do when you’re not able to get closure, to make amends, when you can’t accept or get past what you feel has been left unsaid, undone or unresolved? How can you ever be at peace? (How can the other?) How do you move forward, when closing the door on the past doesn’t seem possible?
It can be especially difficult to practice self-love and self-esteem, when distracted by the discord one might see in what appears to be happening around them (or when visited by the feeling that things seem to be moving –‘progressing’? – mind-numbingly slowly).
A light came to earth and brought teachers to Human. They taught Human all the time, even in Human’s sleep, and thinking to nourish themselves, they ate truths while they were teaching.
Over time and because of what they were themselves learning from being around Human, the teachers split up into Wolf, Coyote and Dog, so that they could make more opportunities to eat.
Wolf fed itself by convincing Human that the best way to survive was to be the fiercest and strongest. With no one else to fight, Human fought Shadow. Wolf would watch Human rage and it would fill him up.
Coyote would range far and wide. Wherever Human went, Coyote played tricks to make Human think and do crazy things. Coyote would laugh and laugh, and it filled him up.
Dog stayed close to Human, and instead of eating truths or making Human crazy, was fed by Human’s friendship, of which he was very protective.
One day Coyote thought to himself, “Why should Wolf have so much influence? And why should Dog’s life be so simple? I’m the clever one! I will break this bond between Wolf and Dog and Human!”
At one point in this life’s journey, having quit a well-paying job with the intention of attracting /manifesting what dreams I thought I needed, I (instead?) found myself collecting cans and bottles off the beach. I’d use the return refund to buy enough rice from the bulk food bin to keep from starving (and I’d overspent, even, until the cashier took off the few cents’ credit for my having brought my own bag). It was also around that time that I’d been asked to participate in an intuitive arts festival to present the work I’d started doing as a psychic illustrator, and found twenty dollars on the sidewalk; exactly what I needed to cover the fee.
Conversely, at a time when I was heavy into a lucid dreaming practice, I sought out and dreamt winning lottery numbers. But (unfortunately?), I only dreamt that I’d woken up to write them down. After eventually waking (for ‘real’), I played the three numbers I knew for sure, as well as as many variations of what I thought I’d seen of the rest (and that I could ostensibly afford). Checking the official results after the draw date, I recognized in hindsight that the winning numbers were in fact the ones I’d originally dreamt. Go figure.
So, (after the expletives took flight,) did I loose /gain any Insights from those experiences?…
